Photographic Workshop and Walk: 15 March 2026

A personalised and exclusive photographic workshop and walk focussing on the 'street geometry of Venice', followed by discussion and feedback. Join us, Andy Parker and Luca Primavesi (www.primavesi.it) for a day of photography and instruction! With over 15 years experience shooting in and around Venice, we can reveal the real Venice away from the tourist hotspots.

Explore hidden corners of Venice and develop skills in composition that tap into Gestalt Theory and go beyond 'leading lines' and the 'rule of thirds'.

A follow up to the success of 'Venice Street Geometry' photography exhibition held in Venice at the Kunst Depot Venezia in 2025, the workshop and walk leads you through the skills and practice of reading the light and shadow, using existing street architecture and choosing the correct vantage point to capture shots that are unique and timeless.

All welcome! We speak English, Italian and French, but communicate in photography... just bring along your mobile phone, mirrorless or DSLR, and above all your passion for the medium!

Limited spaces available! For more information about prices, dates and availability, please email info@monochromevenice.com

Caigo. Taken in February 2023 these were part of the ‘Caigo - Venetian Fog’ series shot on film but never scanned or shown until now. Much grainer than the similar, previously published and exhibited images which were shot on iPhone (see image four in the series), for me these film shots possess more character and depth despite the lack of detail.

Below is the iPhone version...

This year April is analogue month. This means shooting on film wherever possible, but also using vintage, manual Pentax-M lenses with the Fujifim XT5 in order to slow things down and focus on creativity.

Hopefully I can post some results at the end of the month, but in the meantime here are a couple of shots from a ‘lost’ roll of film, taken in Venice last year. All taken on an Olympus mju: II with Ilford HP5 plus film.
